Honoring a lifetime of caring
About Teresa's Place

Honoring a lifetime of caring
Teresa Faustino Laurito spent her life caring for others. She attended nursing school, devoted herself to caregiving, and volunteered in fire and rescue to help people during some of their most difficult moments. She also had a lifelong love of animals.
When Teresa passed away at 63, her children and her cousin wanted to honor her memory by continuing the kind of work she had always done: helping those in need.
That wish became Teresa's Place.
Our organization is being created to provide temporary refuge for livestock displaced by wildfires. By giving animals a safe place to stay, we also hope to bring comfort to the families who must leave them behind during an emergency.
The farm holds a special connection to Teresa. In 2019, she helped her cousin purchase the property that would eventually become the home of Teresa's Place. What she helped make possible then is now becoming a way to carry her compassion forward.
Founded by her children and her cousin, Teresa's Place is a living tribute to her generosity, her love of animals, and her willingness to show up when someone needed help.
Through every animal sheltered and every family supported, we will remember Teresa—and keep her spirit of caring alive.
